Diary entry by Stuart Churchill12/10/2001, Prawle point, Devon| A real hot, sunny day and complete chaos in the carpark as the every birder tried to see the scarce visitor.A short walk along the coast path and I joined the crowd of birders gathered waiting for the bird to show.In the set aside patch of ground, the bird eventually showed very well, perched on some bracken, it proved hard to pick out, with its plumage contrasting very well!!Noted:black eye-stripe, pale supercillium and tram lines down back.It drooped its wings when pearched.Stiff tail, with a ragged end, which it constantly flicked in a slow motion. Also while viewing I had a couple of monach butterflys go past, and on the coast path on the way back managed to find a nice pair of cirl buntings. | 5 Species Spotted: Bobolink Cirl Bunting (Northern) Gannet Little Egret (Common) Stonechat
