Canada Goose Branta canadensis Size: 90-103cm UK Status: fairly common resident breader | Large goose with long black neck and head. Broad white chin strap. Dull brown back with fine pale barring, paler buff underparts with pale breast (similar Barnacle Goose different here with black neck spreading into breast area). Introduced to UK from North America, now resident breeder across Britain and few areas of north Europe. Found in many watery environments, such as lakes, ponds, rivers, marshes and coastland. | |
