Great Tit Parus major Size: 13-15cm UK Status: very common resident breader / scarce winter visitor | Common and widespread, the Great Tit is the largest in the Tit family. Distinctive with glossy black head and bib which extends down in a broad band in the middle of yellow breast and belly. Large white cheek patches, green back, with blue wings and tail. Found in most areas with scattered trees (parks, gardens, moors etc) as well as woodland areas. Resident throughout virtually all of Britain and Europe. | |
